Green Chili Pickle

Today, I ate delicious pickle at home called chili pickle. It's an Indian food. Our background is an Indian and my family member love spicy food. I don't like green chili type of too much spicy foods, but today my mom bought this pickle and they're eating lots of chilly. So I told them, "Guys, don't you feeling too spicy" So my mom told me to try this pickle and said it's not that spicy. So, after trying this pickle, I really loved it. It test little spicy and sour.


It seems weird, but it taste really really good. After eating this pickle, I forgot to eat my real meal. We completed half a jar of pickle in one day. My mom was like, "Why now you eating this thing? Don't you feeling spicy? " And I'm like, "Mom, spicy nah... try it, its a best ;)" Seriously, everyone on earth should try this pickle once a time. You can eat this pickle with any type of heavy food, it taste different and tasty. Only one thing you need to take care, do not eat this too much neither you are going to have diaria problem (LOL). Usually, we can buy this pickle from Indian glossary stores. My mom also bought it from there. If you want to make this pickle at home , here is the recipe for it (scroll down): 

Ingredients: 
  • 20 green Serrano chili peppers
  • 3 tablespoons coriander
  • 1-1/2 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon asafetida
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon mango powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons oil, mustard oil preferred
  Method

  1. Wash and dry the chilies and cut a vertical slit, lengthwise in each one.
  2. Combine coriander, fennel and fenugreek seeds and grind coarsely.
  3. Add salt, mango powder and turmeric to the ground spices; mix well.
  4. Heat oil till it is quite hot, and then pour over the dry ingredient mixture.  Mix well.
  5. Add vinegar and mix well, again.
  6. Stuff green peppers with the spice mix and place in a glass jar.  Place jar for 2 days at room temperature or for 1 day in direct sunlight.
  7. Chili Pickle can be refrigerated up to a month.
